Ribs grinding, head throbbing, stomach churning, Eliot took his cut of the cash Nate had grabbed before they blew up the office. He grabbed Nate’s wrist and with a look of expectation, silently asked the older man if they were leaving together. 

With a negative shake of his head, Nate dashed Eliot’s hopes. Feeling conned twice over, Eliot ruthlessly blanked his face of any expression then left them all without a word.
