Jim Sterling inwardly cringed at the deadly promise in Eliot Spencer’s voice. He’d made the mistake of giving carte blanche in planning the capture of Nate’s little band of thieves to the Coyote spirit that shared his possibly shortened existence. 

Not for the first time Coyote managed to outsmart himself. Not only that, he’d managed to piss off not only one of the deadliest humans he knew, but one of the deadliest animal spirits. They were so screwed. 

Under the growl of fury in Spencer’s voice, Coyote heard the promise of retribution and misery from Wolf. The animal spirit of mischief and trickery hoped Eliot never caught them alone, for threatening Eliot/Wolf’s pack was something the spirit animal never tolerated. **We are so screwed.** Good thing IYS didn’t send Sterling after heavy weights like Eliot. 

After the Leverage offices exploded, Sterling was ecstatic, he forgot all about the danger to Coyote from Wolf. Nathan Ford’s team would have to scatter and he was headed for a corner office at IYS. 

Coyote didn’t share his human’s enthusiasm. He didn’t know where or when, but he knew Wolf would cause him to rue the day they crossed paths. He curled up in the corner of Sterling’s mind with his nose tucked in his tail. A shiver passed through his frame occasionally knowing he’d have to be vigilant for Wolf would haunt the trickster’s dreams same as Eliot Spencer would haunt Jim Sterling.
