It’s 10 am and they’ve been on the Angel sound stage with Joss and the director going over the tracks that Steve and Chris recorded for ‘LA Song’ since 8. They rehearsed the chord and strumming sequences so Chris’ playing would match the audio and video. 

By the time lunch was called, Steve was more than ready to hide out in Chris’ trailer. This was Chris’ last episode of Angel, and if Steve didn’t know Chris, he’d say the man was bi-polar. He was excited about singing on the show, but he was sad that this was his last episode. 

Steve and the music had kept him busy most of the morning. Dave and Andy worked at keeping Chris from drawing into himself while they set up the bar scene. With nothing to occupy him, Chris sat and picked at his food while staring at his script. 

Steve slid his arms around Chris from behind, and rested his cheek on the dark hair. No words were said, but the musician felt the body in his arms relax.

They’d always had this, but until his break-up six months ago they’d never acted on or even talked about it. One Sunday morning after a particularly raucous Saturday night, they’d woke up in Steve’s bed, and they’d been together ever since. 

He coaxed Chris over to the couch where they wrapped around each other until a PA knocked and called Chris back to the set. 

Chris rolled to his feet and headed for the door. He reached for the knob, but quickly turned and walked back to the blond. He cradled his face with both hands, and placed a warm chaste kiss on the full mouth. 

“I love you.” 

He was out the door before Steve could gather his wits enough to reply. He touched his fingers to his lips a Mona Lisa smile transformed the handsome face. 

Just wait ‘til he got Christian home.
