When he moved out he took no pictures, no videos, nothing to remind him of his son or his wife--only the images that were forever burned in his brain. 

For two years Nathan Ford lived in that dark place in his mind where there was nothing but the words ‘Claim denied!’, the sounds of screaming alarms that said Sam’s heart no longer beat and his own desperate screams of denial. 

The scotch seduced him into thinking it was the only thing that could drown out the sounds of the screams, the only thing that turned the nightmares of those last days into dreams of happier times. 

After they scattered, Nathan Ford lived in a dark place in his mind where a new betrayal took the new family he’d made.

After orchestrating Blackpoole’s corporate ‘death’, the crew left Los Angeles, he had pictures and videos of his son and ex-wife so as to not forget the bright days of that part of his life. 

Now the dark places where Nathan Ford lived held warm callused hands, full soft lips, coarse whiskers, moans of want, long dark silky hair, hard planes, soft dips, scars old and new, sighs of completion and contentment, and the whispers of demon scotch held little sway.
