Day 09 – Your beliefs

 

I believe in balance. I try to treat people the way I want to be treated. I believe in trying to do the ‘right thing’ even when that is ambiguous. When that happens I usually turn to divination to help point me in the right direction.

 

As far as religion goes…I practice Lukumi and Cuban Ifa. I am a child of the Orisha, Obatala, and an Apetebi of Orunmila.

Balance is a good thing. Just not easy to maintain... and I must admit I have never heard of those religions. Must look it up!

You may know Lukumi by it's more well known name of Santeria. With so many people coming to the religion from religions other than Catholicism (sp)the old terms don't work so well anymore.

That other name wasn't familiar either, but I wiki'd it, and then I realized I read a bit about it in Umberto Eco's "Foucault's Pendulum". Heh. :-)
